Formerly Toronto Hostels Training Centre, IDEA Training Collaborative offers inclusive, diverse, and equitable training that is both accessible and affordable for individuals supporting vulnerable populations.

Welcome to IDEA Training Collaborative

Our courses focus on practical, real-world skills in areas such as trauma-informed care, mental health support, conflict resolution, and cultural competence, helping participants to navigate the unique challenges faced by vulnerable individuals. By promoting empathy, ethical practices, and clear communication, we empower our trainees to make a positive impact in the lives of those they serve. Whether you’re new to the field or looking to expand your expertise, our organization is here to guide and support you on your journey to make a difference. We offer flexible training options to meet the needs of different learners and organizations. Our sessions are available in half-day, full-day (one-day), and two-day formats, allowing learners to choose the duration that best fits their schedule and learning objectives. In addition to live sessions, we also provide self-paced training, giving participants the freedom to learn at their own convenience and pace. Whether you prefer in-person engagement or flexible online learning, we have a training option to suit your needs.

Training Calendar

Our instructor-led calendar training sessions are organized courses or workshops that the general public can sign up for ahead of time. These sessions are offered either in-person or virtually, making it easy for you to participate no matter where you are. Designed to be inclusive and engaging, these trainings provide valuable skills and insights for all community members. Training topics are specific to supporting vulnerable populations, particularly within the housing and homelessness sector.

This customizable training option is designed for organizations that work with vulnerable populations and are looking to enhance their team’s skills and knowledge. Agency Training Requests

Office Walk-In Hours

Our walk-in hours have been updated to Tuesdays and Fridays from 10:00am – 12:00pm and from 1:00pm – 3:00pm. If you plan to visit the office outside of these hours, please ensure that you email julian@thtcentre (for calendar course registrations)
