This workshop emphasizes the critical importance of self-care for helping professionals to maintain optimal health, prevent compassion fatigue, and avoid burnout. Participants will learn how to apply simple self-care tools to manage stress effectively and promote personal well-being. The training highlights the biopsychosocial-spiritual model, which emphasizes balance across body, mind, and spirit. Through experiential practices such as Body-Mindfulness Awareness, developing a Self-Care Treatment Plan, and engaging in the Integrative MAGIC Journaling Process, participants will gain practical skills to recognize the signs of stress, compassion fatigue, and burnout, and implement strategies for self-care, integration, restoration, and growth.


Learning Objectives: 

1. Identify different types of stress physiology and how they affect the body, mind, and spirit.
2. Recognize the signs of compassion fatigue, secondary trauma, and burnout.
3. Understand the application of self-care tools to promote integration, restoration, and growth.


Learning Outcomes: 

1. Participants will be able to identify and manage stress through a biopsychosocial-spiritual framework.
2. Participants will recognize the early signs of compassion fatigue and burnout and apply tools to prevent them.
3. Participants will create an actionable self-care treatment plan to sustain well-being and long-term effectiveness in their roles.
