Course Description:

We’re excited to announce the launch of our 2 new Confronting Anti-Black Racism (CABR) courses coming August 5th!

These courses are designed to help staff build the knowledge, awareness, and skills to create safer, more inclusive environments.

Developed in collaboration with leading experts, this self-paced, online course explores:

  • The history and impacts of anti-Black racism in Canada

  • Intersectionality and how systemic barriers affect Black communities

  • Trauma-informed practices and approaches

  • Practical allyship and anti-racist strategies you can apply every day

These courses will be free for all City of Toronto funded Shelter Staff and each course takes approximately 6 hours to complete. To receive a certificate of completion, all modules must be finished within 30 days of enrollment.

Why take this course?
By understanding and challenging anti-Black racism, we can actively contribute to building safer, more equitable spaces for the communities we serve.

How do I get access to the course for free?

If you are a City of Toronto–funded Shelter Staff or a POS Shelter Worker, you can access our 2 new courses completely free of charge. Your organization must have a registered account with us.

If you’re unsure whether your organization already has an account, please contact your manager. We can assist them with the registration process if needed.

Get Ahead of Registration!

We anticipate a high volume of organizations requesting to create and setup their accounts. To get ahead of this wait, we recommend making sure your organization account is setup correctly. If you don’t have an account or unsure if it is setup correctly, contact Riaz or Jacob. Find our contact information here.
