Steve Lister, B.A., B.Ed., Special Education Specialist
Steve Lister is an experienced educator and professional facilitator with a passion for mental health, mindfulness, and emotional regulation. With a B.A., B.Ed., and Special Education Specialist qualifications, Steve has a broad range of certifications, including Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) from LivingWorks, and Interpersonal Neurobiology from the Mindsight Institute. He is also a Provincial Trainer for Behaviour Management Systems.
As a contracted trainer, Steve delivers ASIST through the Canadian Mental Health Association, and Behavior Management Systems, Autism Awareness, and Mindful Educators programs for the Ontario Education Services Corporation. He has designed and delivered numerous workshops focused on Mental Health and Respect in the Workplace.
Known for his highly interactive workshops, Steve incorporates hands-on activities and group discussions to create engaging learning environments. He is the author of Cultivating Harmony: Navigating Our Complex World Through Mindfulness and Emotional Regulation and co-authored the training manual, workbook, and PowerPoint for the Mindful Educators Program.
Steve’s commitment to fostering emotional well-being and safe spaces for open dialogue is reflected in his workshops, where he is candid, honest, and authentic, encouraging participants to share complex thoughts and emotions. His contributions have earned him recognition, including a nomination for Teacher of the Year from the Bermuda Ministry of Education in 2011 and the ASIST Gold Pin Award in 2024 for delivering 125 workshops.
