Tammy Whelen is a dedicated Mental Health Educator with 13 years of experience, specializing in educating communities about mental health and wellness. Her personal journey, which includes battling cancer at just 25 years old and coping with the loss of a loved one to addiction, has fueled her passion for demystifying mental illness and fighting the stigma surrounding it.
Tammy is a certified adult educator and holds certifications in Facilitation and Teaching Effectiveness. She utilizes her personal experiences in her teaching, demonstrating that everyone faces unique challenges and that understanding and acceptance are key to building strong support networks.
Tammy is a certified trainer in ASIST, safeTALK, Mental Health First Aid, Compassion Fatigue, and Mental Health in the Workplace. Her ability to engage and inspire learners has earned her the Innovation and Leadership Award from the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) in 2016.
With 14 years of experience, Tammy is a motivated, self-directed, and dynamic educator. She is committed to creating a cohesive and interactive learning environment that fosters meaningful change and builds awareness around mental health issues.
